RPM Repository Definitions for Concurrent Real-Time Products

Concurrent Real-Time YUM repository definitions take the following form:

https://redhawk.concurrent-rt.com/rhel/Login=login/Password=password/RedHawk/8.2/$basearch

The bold black portion of the definition is common to all Concurrent Real-Time YUM repositories. It is appropriate to use rhel even if you are running on CentOS, Rocky Linux, or Oracle Linux systems.

The bold green portions above must be replaced with your Login ID and Password for redhawk.concurrent-rt.com.

The Login ID is also your Site ID, which typically starts with LI, LA, or LR followed by 5-7 decimal digits.

The Site ID is included in a cover letter which shipped with your system and/or software. For semi-modern RedHawk systems, you can obtain your Site ID via one of the following commands:

The bold red portion of the definition specifies the name (or path) of the repository. This usually starts off with the product name moniker, followed by any optional subdirectories, followed by the version.

The following sections provide a list of URLs appropriate for use with Concurrent Real-Time products. For brevity, we will use "l" and "p" to represent your real Login and Password values. You must replace them with the real values.

This page describes Concurrent Real-Time software repositories for users running RedHawk on CentOS, RHEL, Rocky Linux, and Oracle Linux systems.

You can find information on Concurrent Real-Time's deb-based repositories for use with Ubuntu-based systems at APT Repositories.

The version notations that end in '.n' are actual, valid versions that you can use for all amd64 RedHawk Intel/AMD systems. They represent the latest update in the major.minor release series.

For example, 7.5.n might give you the content of 7.5.3, but when 7.5.4 is released, it will include the 7.5.4 update. Thus you can use the '.n' version if you always want the latest update -- you won't need to change your repo definitions when new updates come out.

Of course you can use a specific incremental version (e.g. 7.5.2). To determine the available incremental releases, we recommend you browse for them.

Modern versions of NightStar RT (version 4.8 or higher) allow you to specify an optional /distro component in the URL. The component should be one of:

  • /rhel5
  • /rhel6
  • /rhel7
  • /rhel8
  • /rhel9

Use the distro code that most closely matches your underlying Linux distribution version, even if it not using RHEL. Omit the distro component for NightStar RT Versions prior to 4.8.

Consult the following table for NightStar and RedHawk Version compatibility:

NightStar Version Supported RedHawk Versions
5.0 and higher RedHawk 7.5 and higher
4.8 and earlier RedHawk 2.3-7.3
